The Osmo Pocket 3’s camera has a one-inch CMOS sensor and can shoot video at up to 120 fps in 4K. DJI says that the sensor has been designed to deliver great image quality, even in challenging lighting conditions. As a result, your low-light scenes will have clarity and authentic color. The camera will also fine-tune the exposure for different skin tones. In addition, you can record in 10-bit D-Log M and 10-bit HLG color modes. This means that you have much more scope to color grade your video in post production.

Touchscreen

This gimbal has a two-inch, full-color OLED rotatable touchscreen to control your camera. With its three-axis mechanical stabilization, the camera also ensures steady images even during dynamic camera movements. In addition, the gimbal has a built-in three-mic array to capture great sound. The setup reduces wind noise and captures omnidirectional stereo sound for immersive audio. The gimbal is compatible with the DJI Mic 2 so you can use two-person recording for vlogs, interviews and livestreams.

Intelligent features

The Osmo Pocket 3 has a range of new intelligent features to make your video output better. ActiveTrack 6.0 offers multiple follow modes, including Face Auto-Detect and Dynamic Framing, for cinematic-level footage. Glamour Effects 2.0 also adds personalized beauty options. In addition, you can use SpinShot for 180-degree smooth camera movements and Motionlapse to capture timelapses. The gimbal even has a four times digital zoom and a Panorama mode.

Other features

The gimbal features full-pixel fast focusing to ensure sharp focus, even with quick-moving subjects. The camera can record up to 116 minutes of 4K/60 fps or 166 minutes of 1080p/24 fps video on a full charge. In addition, you can quick charge the camera to 80% in only 16 minutes. The Osmo Pocket 3 also has a Product Showcase mode for smooth livestreaming and product showcasing. You can even use it as a webcam. The camera has a built-in timecode function so you can ensure that your footage syncs between different cameras.

LightCut

If you connect the LightCut app to your Osmo Pocket 3, you can use the One-Tap Edit feature for simple content creation. The app uses AI to select highlights from your footage and cuts together 4K videos. You can also choose between video templates including vlogs, travel, parties, family gatherings, pets, food and more.

What we think

The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 seems to make it easy to capture high-quality, stable video footage while on the move. Support for 10-bit D-Log and HLG HDR video recording also means that you can color grade your video easily for great results. The small size and long battery life of the gimbal make it ideal for content creators. In addition, the compact design means that you can use the camera to get creative shots that wouldn’t be possible with a larger camera. The Osmo Pocket could be a great addition to your camera arsenal as an action cam.
