Today Canon announced the most recent addition to their EOS line with the EOS 70D. For a entry-level DSLR, we're really excited about the implications behind this camera. The most important feature of the 70D is the new, super-fast, 19-point autofocus system which abandons the need for contrast detection. What this means for videographers and filmmakers is that the camera doesn't have the usual autofocus "wobble" that tends to happen as the lens moves back and forth in order to try to get focus on the right point of interest. In addition, the EOS 70D features:
- 21MP APC-C CMOS sensor with a 1.6x crop factor
- EF & EF-S lens mount
- 1920×1080 (30p)
- 1280×720 (60p)
- MOV, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264
- Single mic input via 3.5mm stereo jack
- Single SD card slot
- Maximum ISO 12,800
